Teaching at Big Minds is a job unlike any other – every day is a different one, and on any given morning you may find yourself writing a new story with a student, building sculptures out of scrap metal, playing dodgeball, or brainstorming headlines for our fraternal campus newspapers. To work in a school like ours is to take tough moments in stride, to find and express enthusiasm where it shines from our students, to channel your passions and skills into the endeavors you will undertake with our students.
With a four-day work week and year-round pay, your working hours begin and end with the opening and closing of our doors. We’ll never ask you to take your work home with you or work long after our students have already been picked up by their families.

Big Minds staff members are creative, patient, and empathetic, each with a unique set of skills and lived experiences upon which they draw to help actualize every student’s vision for their pedagogical trajectory. From experiences within traditional academic settings to hands-on work, each teacher has the expertise to pair with their specialized approach to our population of learners, and are constantly on the balls of their feet, ready to pivot to whatever comes down the pike.
Each working day at Big Minds is an exercise in self-reflection, critical thinking and, above all, collaboration. Our team relies heavily on each other for support, advice, equipment, or even simply a listening ear.
